DirectRooms.com – The Granite Challenge to be Held in Aviemore on 18 June 2011
DirectRooms.com announces that a race event being held in Aberdeenshire will test competitors over a mixture or disciplines while looking to raise much needed funds for Chest, Heart and Stroke Scotland.
Aviemore, United Kingdom, May 06, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The Granite Challenge is a race that stretches for 40 miles over the old railway line that went from Fraserburgh to Aberdeen. Competitors will be starting on Fraserburgh beach and finishing in Dyce and there will be three courses to choose from combining running, hiking and cycling.
The race is a team event for three people who can pick from either one of the three events but each one is total distance of 40 miles. "The Duathlon Challenge" features a run for 15 miles followed by 25 miles of cycling. "The Bike Challenge" is a 40-mile cycle race or "The Hike and Bike Challenge" consists of a 15-mile walk mixed with a bike ride of 25 miles.
The rules stipulate that each team member must complete the course and relays are not allowed although each individual can enter for a different challenge. All the races will be held on 18th June 2011 and entry is priced at £45 for teams with a minimum pledge of £180 of sponsorship agreed by each team.
