Haag-Streit UK to Showcase 2 Exciting New Products at BCLA 2011
Harlow, United Kingdom, May 06, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Haag-Streit UK will showcase two new products at the British Contact Lens Association (BCLA) 2011 event this month; the DRS non-mydriatic retinal imaging camera and the Perkins Mk3 hand-held applanation tonometer.
The new DRS fully-automated retinal camera has been designed to maximise patient flow, without compromising on image quality. Its compact ergonomic design features an integrated PC with an easy-to-use intuitive touch screen interface that requires minimal operator training. It boasts a 160GB hard drive, enabling the storage of thousands of images, whilst the low-power LED flash helps to ensure patient comfort.
The DRS supports single or multiple field acquisition, providing seven different standards within a 45° field. Single-button operation enables the DRS to automatically detect the patient, self-align to the patient’s eye, focus on the retina, adjust the flash level and capture and store a high-quality image in less than 30 seconds per eye.
Images can be stored directly onto the DRS system or a USB memory stick, printed, or transmitted to another PC or network via the integrated Wi-Fi and Ethernet connection.
Initially unveiled at Optrafair 2011 in April, the product attracted a lot of attention due to its competitive price point and functionality, it is anticipated that it will be as popular at BCLA 2011.
The new Perkins Mk3 hand-held applanation tonometer will also be showcased at the event. The product, which is designed and produced by Haag-Streit UK, boasts an improved ergonomic hand-held design, an integrated rechargeable battery and enhanced internal LED illumination.
Like its predecessors, the Mk3 can utilise either reusable Goldmann tonometer prisms or Tonosafe disposable applanation prisms to minimise the risk of patient cross-contamination, whilst the easy-to-use "Tonogrip" prism holder allows for straightforward placement of sterilised prisms, providing safety and accuracy on contact.
Haag-Streit UK will also be exhibiting the ever-popular Goldmann digital tonometer and the Heidelberg Spectralis OCT at the event. Visit Haag-Streit UK on stand 77 at BCLA 2011, held at Manchester Central on the 27th-29th May.
