Maurer Foundation Welcomes Two New Board Members

Mineola, NY, May 06, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The Maurer Foundation, a Long Island-based breast health education non-profit, welcomes new board members Susan Iadarola of the Dana Rader Golf School and Maureen Dougherty of Comerford & Dougherty, LLP.

“I am thrilled that both Susan and Maureen have decided to join us in this great cause. Their individual leadership and commitment will help build out this organization and assist us in reaching our mission in educating woman about breast health,” said Foundation Chairman Andrew Corrado.

Susan Iadarola has twenty years of marketing experience in the banking and real estate industries. Currently, she serves as Director of Sales and Marketing at the Dana Rader Golf School, headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, where she is responsible for all advertising, branding, promotions, print collateral, web communication, event planning, public relations, customer service and sales efforts. Iadarola holds a M.B.A in Finance from Adelphi University and a B.B.A in Marketing from Hofstra University.

Maureen Dougherty went into private law practice in 1989 and has been a partner of Comerford & Dougherty LLP since 2004. She was appointed as the Prosecutor for the Village of Old Westbury in 1993 and the Village of Rockville Centre in 2002 and continues to serve as the Prosecutor in both Villages. Dougherty is a member of the New York State Bar Association and the Nassau County Bar Association, where she serves on the Matrimonial Law Committee, the Alternate Dispute Resolution Committee, and the Surrogate’s Court Estates and Trusts Committee. Dougherty is also a member of the Nassau County Women’s Bar Association and was appointed Treasurer in 2010. She is a member of the Nassau County Matrimonial Mediators and the New York Association of Collaborative Professionals as well as the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. She is also a long time member of the Nassau Lawyer’s Association of Long Island, where she was appointed to the Board of Directors in 2002. Dougherty has lectured at the Academy of Law, the Nassau County Bar Association, and the New York State Bar Association. In addition to her practice Dougherty is active in the community as she has been a member of the Board of Directors at Sacred Heart Academy in Hempstead since 2006; a member of the Garden City Chamber of Commerce; and a lifetime member of the Girl Scouts USA.
