Status Solutions Advisory Regarding Inovonics Frequency Agile (FA) End of Life Announcement
Charlottesville, VA, May 06, 2011 --(PR.com)-- On April 22, 2011 Inovonics Product Management announced, “The Inovonics Frequency Agile (FA) product line is going end-of-life in 2011 due to component obsolescence. For over 15 years, the FA product line has met the needs of Inovonics customers in a multitude of applications, from security to signal and control. While we have attempted to maintain the product line as long as practical, recent economic conditions have hastened the obsolescence of many low-volume components by our suppliers, which are used in the FA product line.”
What this means . . .
According to the statement issued by Inovonics, “The final order date for FA product is September 1, 2011, with the exception of the FA duress pendants. As such, we will continue supporting the FA duress pendants at this time. We expect to be able to support various part numbers for the next 12-18 months. Please be aware that while we will support specified pendants for as long as possible, availability and pricing are dependent on component obsolescence and volume demands.” A FAQ is available to help answer some of the questions customers may have.

Many customers have already made the switch from the FA platform to Inovonics’ more advanced EchoStream (EN) product line and are realizing the improvements in range and simplified installation. But there are many customers in various markets that have not yet made this transition; therefore Status Solutions is offering to help in this upgrade process.
In order to help customers that have large investments in FA wireless infrastructures, Status Solutions has various programs in place to provide a way for these customers to slowly begin the upgrade to EN, while gaining the advantage of a state of the art alert server (SARA) and un-matched location capabilities (SARA’s Positioning System - SPS).
Working with the improved EN infrastructure, Status Solutions’ engineers developed a way to introduce an innovative positioning system. SARA’s Positioning System (SPS) provides enhanced location support for mobile duress transmitters or pendants within the EN infrastructure. Through vector mapping technology, SPS provides highly accurate location data which shows the proximity of the mobile device to a fixed device within the infrastructure. Location can be as accurate as to the apartment. SPS is patent pending and provides customers the ability to make location more precise through the use of fixed devices and virtual points of interest.
How you can leverage your existing investment . . .
Status Solutions’ FA replacement strategy allows customers to place the EN infrastructure alongside their existing FA infrastructure. New EN mobile pendants working with SPS can operate seamlessly alongside the FA infrastructure supporting fixed FA devices (pull cords, wall pendants, motion and smoke detectors, etc.). As the FA devices fail over time, they can be replaced with EN devices and continue to operate seamlessly in the dual infrastructure environment. Over time, all devices will transition to EN and the FA repeaters, locators, and serial receiver will no longer be needed.
The driving force behind this replacement strategy is SARA - the Situational Awareness and Response Assistant – a unique alert server. SARA is web based, has an on-board voice engine for broadcast messaging, supports multiple integrations to 3rd party alarming systems, interfaces with multiple environmental monitoring sensors, supports SPS enhanced location and much more.
