A New Partnership in Art & Wine in Philadelphia
The Walnut Street Theatre teams up with the Wine School of Philadelphia for "Wine at the Walnut"
Philadelphia, PA, March 08, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Today, the Walnut Street Theatre is announcing an exciting new concept in Philadelphia; a wine tasting & theatre package. "Wine at the Walnut" will debut on Friday, March 30th with a tasting of Italian wines and a production of the Tony-nominated play "Enchanted April". The theatre is partnering with The Wine School of Philadelphia to offer this posh event. "The Wine School is a renowned Philadelphia institution," notes Walnut spokesman Ralph Weeks.
The specially priced tickets include a one-hour tasting with Keith Wallace, Founder of the Wine School, and will feature wines drawn directly from the play itself. "The play unfolds on the Italian Riveria, so the wine tasting will include wines from nearby vineyards," says Mr. Wallace. Wines from the Piedmont and Liguria will be prominently featured, along with wines of Chianti. "I am happy that the Walnut Theatre asked for our help," says Mr. Wallace, "this will be a rich and evocative theatre experience."
The specially discounted tickets are available today through the Wine School's website at www.vinology.com/walnut. The tickets for the debut "Wine at the Walnut" will be discounted by 30% over the standard prices. "One of the benefits of being a school and working with a non-profit theatre," says Keith, "is that we can offer an amazing experience without a huge ticket price. We can draw in an audience that may otherwise be exposed to the theatre." A ticket price of $65 covers both the tasting and the show.
About the Show
The play follows two lonely married English women to Italy, where they share the rent with a crusty Englishwoman and a lonely aristocrat. This funny, romantic and heart-warming Broadway hit charmed the New York critics, winning the Outer Critics Circle Playwrighting award.

Offering five productions a season on the theatre's Mainstage, it is the most subscribed theatre company in the world. The theatre is located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at 825 Walnut Street.
