Haag-Streit UK Exhibiting at the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (RCO) Annual Congress
Haag-Streit UK will be exhibiting at the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (RCO) Annual Congress on the 24th-26th May at the ICC, Birmingham. Visit Haag-Streit UK on stand W and X and see the latest imaging equipment including; the LENSTAR biometer, the Heidelberg Edge Perimeter and the 40MHz probe for the Ellex EyeCubed™.
Harlow, United Kingdom, May 08, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The LENSTAR biometer provides surgeons with an innovative non-contact instrument that can calculate all common required parameters with one measurement.
All axial measurements (axis length, anterior chamber depth, cornea and lens thickness) are provided at unmatched precision by the innovative laser interferometry method (OLCR). The patient fixates directly along the measurement beam, ensuring that all measurement parameters are captured at the visual optical line of the patient. Simultaneously, the automatic keratometer calculates corneal power, white-white distance and pupil diameter.
All values are calculated in one simple examination, reducing the measurement time significantly, thus improving patient and user comfort. The measurement values can be used instantly to calculate the optimal IOL. Current IOL formulae are available together with a user-friendly lens database within the intuitive EyeSuite software.
The Heidelberg Edge Perimeter (HEP) has been specifically developed to investigate the earliest possible functional damage in patients with glaucoma, whilst also improving on traditional test-retest characteristics in order to better follow disease progression.
The new device has been designed to work in combination with the well-established Heidelberg Retina Tomograph (HRT). With a common data platform and software, together the HEP and OHTS-proven HRT ensure structure and function information are tracked simultaneously to give the best possible indicators of glaucomatous progression.
The new 40MHz probe for the Ellex EyeCubed™ will be also unveiled at RCO 2011. EyeCubed™ is renowned for its unparalleled sensitivity and exceptional image resolution and the new 40MHz probe for the EyeCubedTM produces the same high standard for anterior segment imaging. The easy-to-use (no scleral shell required), wide field, 40MHz probe allows clear imaging of the anterior segment with no compromise of the image width and depth.
Haag-Streit UK will also exhibit and demonstrate other class-leading products, including; the Ellex Tango SLT laser, Haag-Streit Octopus 900 perimeter, Heidelberg Spectralis HRA+OCT and the gold-standard BQ900LED imaging system. Visit Haag-Streit UK on stand W and X at RCO 2011 on the 24th-26th May at the ICC, Birmingham.
