Clayton, IL, May 08, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Outskirts Press, Inc. has published Last Ute Chief: Best-Ever Telling of Vietnam War! by Les Davenport. The author's most recent book to date is a 6 x 9 paperback in the historical fiction category and is available worldwide on book retailer websites such as Amazon and Barnes & Noble. Last Ute Chief is also available in its 6 x 9 hardback edition with jacket. The webpage at www.outskirtspress.com/LastUteChief was launched simultaneously with the book's publication.
This is a historical fiction novel depicting the life of a Native American youth, Boyd Barfoot, during the Vietnam War era. His struggles, accomplishments and undying love for a Vietnamese girl, Mia Lee, will test every emotion.
Boyd’s near-death experiences while fighting in South Vietnam and Cambodia parallel many of the ones American war veterans take to their graves. Several of the events in this book were altered from true happenings. Woven within the chapters of this novel are the factual causes leading up to the Vietnam War. Two of Boyd’s spine-tingling adventures are attempting to end Vietcong attacks of U.S. troops near Saigon and the rescue of POW’s in Cambodia. PFC Barfoot earns the Medal of Honor for heroism.
This book is recommended for those of high school age and older. Additional, signed copies of the novel can be ordered through the author’s website: www.booksbydavenport.com.
250 pages in length, Last Ute Chief: Best-Ever Telling of Vietnam War! is being aggressively promoted to appropriate markets with a focus on the historical fiction category. With U.S. wholesale distribution through Ingram and Baker & Taylor, and pervasive online availability through Amazon, Barnes & Noble and elsewhere, Last Ute Chief meets consumer demand through both retail and library markets with a suggested retail price of $15.95 and $29.95 for the paperback and hardback editions, respectively.
