2007 Paul Mitchell Big Bear Freeski Open Results
The results are in from the 2007 Paul Mitchell Big Bear Freeski Open, March 3-4, 2007 at Bear Mountain Resort in Big Bear Lake, Calif., the first competitive freeski event produced by rEvolution, the Chicago-based integrated sports marketing and media services agency.
Chicago, IL, March 08, 2007 --(PR.com)-- The 2007 Paul Mitchell Big Bear Freeski Open, March 3-4, 2007 at Bear Mountain Resort in Big Bear Lake, Calif., was the first competitive freeski event produced by rEvolution, the Chicago-based integrated sports marketing and media services agency. The two-day weekend event consisted of Halfpipe events on Saturday, and the Slopestyle competition on Sunday. The Halfpipe finals were held Saturday night under the lights for the first time at Big Bear. While temperatures ranged from 60 degrees during the day, the freezing temperatures at night generated faster conditions for the finalists.

More than 90 men were in the field for the Slopestyle competition on Sunday morning, one of the largest slopestyles of the season. Only 12 competitors made it to the afternoon final on the men’s side. For the women, the semi-final was eliminated from competition to make way for a two-run final. All skiers were judged on their technical prowess through a challenging course that included four rails, three jumps and a wall ride.

In addition to the $20,000 cash purse that was awarded, the Halfpipe winner qualifies for a position in the 2008 Ski Tour. The Ski Tour is considered North America’s new elite, four-stop mountain festival and skiing competition.
