Crowne Plaza Philadelphia West Becomes Preferred Hotel for UPenn Athletics
Crowne Plaza enters into sponsorship agreement with University of Pennsylvania Athletic Department; will be title sponsor for fall women's volleyball tournament.
Philadelphia, PA, May 12, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The Crowne Plaza Philadelphia West today announced that it had entered into a sponsorship agreement with the University of Pennsylvania Athletic Department. The terms of the agreement were arranged by Nelligan Sports Marketing, Inc, on behalf of UPenn Athletics.
Located on City Avenue, just off of I-76, the Crowne Plaza is just 6 miles from the University of Pennsylvania and downtown Philadelphia.
The eight-story Crowne Plaza offers 337 guest rooms and a variety of amenities, including a fitness center, business center, and indoor pool and whirlpool. The restaurant and lounge, Avenue Grill, is located in the hotel serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as in-room dining. The hotel also provides its guests with free on-site parking and free wireless high-speed internet – a rarity amongst Philadelphia hotels.
The hotel features the Crowne Plaza Sleep Advantage program, which is available at all Crowne Plaza hotels in the Americas. Sleep Advantage encompasses the entire sleep experience, from training staff on how to create and maintain a restful environment to providing innovative products and services. Program components include new bedding, guaranteed wake-up calls, designated quiet zones, night lights, drape clips and amenities such as eye masks, ear plugs and lavender spray.
Also consistent with the Crowne Plaza brand, the hotel will offer a comprehensive meetings program to ensure a seamless planning process and exceptional meeting experience consisting of three key components: a Two-Hour Response Guarantee, Crowne Meetings Director and a Daily Meetings Debrief. The hotel features 7,000 square feet of meeting and banquet space, which can accommodate events ranging from 5 to 350 people.
“We are very pleased to be entering into this agreement with the UPenn Athletics Department,” said Ronald Balle, Director of Sales for Crowne Plaza Philadelphia West. “Our hotel has hosted a number of teams visiting the other schools and universities in the area, and we look forward to providing the same high level of service and value to teams visiting UPenn.”
In addition to providing preferred hotel services for teams and individuals visiting the University of Pennsylvania, the Crowne Plaza will also be the title sponsor for the UPenn Women’s Volleyball Fall Classic Tournament in September 2011.
