Pat Grandle, Broker, Completes First Sale at Chicagoland Sunbelt
Grandle’s first sale was a pet grooming business in the northern suburbs of Chicago. Pet grooming and boarding accounts for $3.51 billion of revenue in the overall $48 billion pet industry market in the United States in 2010.
Chicago, IL, May 14, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Pat Grandle, Broker at Chicagoland Sunbelt, (www.chicagolandsunbelt.com) recently completed the sale of a dog and cat groomer located in the Chicagoland area. Pat Grandle’s first deal was remarkable in that there were only two showings of the business to prospective buyers, one of whom made an offer in days. The pet groomer offered for sale had a twenty year plus history in the community. It had a stellar reputation with customers and the community. Great reviews on sites such as Yelp, Yellow Pages, Google, Yahoo, etc., signaled to buyers that there was a brand name valued by the community.
Grandle stated “Buyers are wary of what brokers present. One of the great upsides of sites such as Facebook and Yelp is that if the feedback is positive from the community, it is like having a third party endorsement of the business. It was a rewarding experience to see my seller get good value for all the hard work they had put into the business over the years.”
Pat Grandle joined Chicagoland Sunbelt in the fall of 2010. Her background is in automotive parts manufacturing. She had worked for this business, founded and run by her family, in sales and marketing roles for nearly twenty years. Grandle has focused both on manufacturing and distribution but has also taken a strong interest in Main Street businesses. The pet grooming business was part of this focus.
“I am very interested in both representing industrial businesses and Main Street boutiques, restaurants, and the like. I am very active in my local chamber, the Downers Grove Chamber of Commerce, http://www.downersgrove.org/, and see how Main Street businesses are the backbone of any community,” said Grandle.
Using data from Biz-Buy-Sell’s Quarterly Insight Reports on business sales activity in the Chicagoland market, retail businesses for sale consistently account for 20 to 25% of the market of businesses for sale. The traditional, Main Street seller is still a significant part of the “businesses for sale” marketplace.
“This is where brokers make all the difference when it is time for someone to the sell the business. The broker is the seller’s advocate and expert. We keep it confidential, we market it to a wide audience of buyers, and we work diligently to get sellers the best deal we can,” commented Domenic Rinaldi, Managing Director, of Chicagoland Sunbelt.
