Bishop Rick Wallace Launches New Youth Initiatives in Conjunction with the Release of His New Book: the Invisible Father: Reversing the Curse of a Fatherless Generation
Bishop Rick Wallace has created two youth programs targeted at at-risk youth. These programs have been developed to respond to what Bishop Wallace calls IFS (The Invisible Father Syndrome) and correlate with the Release of his new book: The Invisible Father: Reversing the Curse of a Fatherless Generation.
Dallas, TX, May 14, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Bishop Rick Wallace has begun a campaign to engage at risk youth in conjunction with the release of his new book: The Invisible Father: Reversing the Curse of a Fatherless Generation. His book addresses what he declares as an epidemic of fatherlessness in America. Bishop Wallace Calls this epidemic IFS (The Invisible Father Syndrome).
This is what Bishop Wallace has to say about these new initiatives: “One would have to be blind or totally oblivious to the devastating effects of IFS in America to ascertain or declare that all is well on the home front. It can be seen in the dropout rates, teen pregnancy, teen suicide, and more. To write a book and share what I have to give to the issue has been an honor; however, that is not enough. We can no longer sit on the sideline and idly look on has this generation disintegrates right before our eyes. We must be willing to step onto the battle field and make our presence felt.
“As I go out to minister and engage these youth, I see a longing for love and leadership. I see young people that are crying out for help in the most inauspicious of ways. We must engage them where they are. Instead of judging them, we must show them the love of Christ. This is why I have created Young Men of Valor and Young Ladies of Distinction. Young Men of Valor is a program that will provide personal guidance and mentorship for young men ages 15-27; teaching them the biblical definition of manhood. This program will focus on guiding these young men past mediocrity into greatness.
“Young Ladies of Distinction is focused on creating an environment where your ladies will come to aspire to a life of virtue and purity. We will be teaching the young women about their identity in Christ, providing value and self-worth.
“This is not something that I can do alone, but the community, especially the Christian community has to come together and commit to making a difference in these kid’s lives.”
Bishop Wallace has been actively involved an engaged in youth issues in Houston and Dallas. He is looking to expand his work to the Austin area as well, eventually taking the project national.
