Purcellville, VA, May 17, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Multimedia music production company Goose Creek Music and Entertainment announces the release of a new live album “Ruthie and the Wranglers, Live at Goose Creek.” The band will celebrate the album’s release with a performance and CD signing event at the Hill Country Barbecue in Washington DC on June 17, 2011. The album goes on sale on June 14, and will be available from CD Baby, iTunes, Amazon.com and other online music distributors. Ruthie and The Wranglers’ albums have consistently ranked high on Americana, Folk and Roots music radio charts around the world. Their clever songwriting skills were penned by Billboard Magazine as “...nothing short of brilliant.” Dirty Linen, No Depression and The Washington Post raved about their 2010 CD “Americana Express.” From original Americana Country to rousing surf instrumentals, their clever lyrics, high energy and spritely hillbilly harmonies set them apart from the rest.
Lead vocalist and songwriter Ruthie Logsdon and her band have racked up more than 25 WAMMIES including Country Vocalist and Songwriter of the Year from the Washington Area Music Association. Ruthie grew up singing at home with her dad and his guitar and harmonica. Although geographically the Logsdons were city folks, they held family hoedowns singing songs by Hank Williams & Jimmy Dickens at any opportunity. Ruthie’s influences from her rootsy background, combined with her Rock ‘n’ Roll and Punk-influenced college days, lead to the creation of Ruthie and the Wranglers.
The Wranglers band features bassist, vocalist and key songwriter Greg Hardin, who brings his lead vocals, backing harmonies and bullseye bass guitar beat to the band’s high-spirited show. Greg has a passion for creating quirky lyrics like “I’m so sad since you left me, it’s almost like you’re still here.” Lead guitarist and award winning multi-instrumentalist Andy Rutherford adds slinky telecaster fills, delicate acoustic guitar work, and surf-guitar soundscapes to the album’s tracks. Pianist, vocalist and songwriter Bill Starks contributes his silky vocals and honky-tonk piano to songs of our time like “The Repo Man” and drummer Tom Fridrich’s broad dynamic range provides a heartbeat for everything from tender ballads to surf-rock instrumentals.
Combining concert events and audio/video capture, Goose Creek Music partners with local venues and Mid-Atlantic artists to create a published collection of live performance recordings by notable songwriters and musicians in Northern Virginia, Washington D.C. and Maryland. Goose Creek Music has recorded over 250 songs as live performances since 2008, and continues to release the best performances from their collection as audio recordings on iTunes and CD releases.
