NetHope Welcomes Compassion International as Its 32nd Member
NetHope continues to grow its membership to deliver information and communication technology solutions to the developing world
McLean, VA, May 15, 2011 --(PR.com)-- NetHope, a unique collaboration of the world’s leading international humanitarian organizations working together to solve common problems in the developing world with information and communication technology (ICT) solutions, today welcomed its 32nd member organization, Compassion International - a Christian child development organization dedicated to releasing children from spiritual, economic, social and physical poverty.
Compassion International will contribute to and benefit from the knowledge and technology resources shared among NetHope’s growing membership. NetHope’s collaborative approach and effective use of technology to address human development, health challenges and capacity building will allow Compassion International to better serve the over 1 million children currently reached by their child development aid.
“Many factors work together to eradicate poverty,” says Jim Finwick, Vice President of Information Technology at Compassion. “Technology multiplies those factors, increasing our capacity to release children from poverty in Jesus’ name. Partnering with other like-minded organizations allows Compassion to collaborate on emerging innovations as well as leverage solutions across multiple groups. Our membership with NetHope opens doors for many new possibilities.”
“Having Compassion International join the NetHope membership adds a wealth of expertise and resources to the existing tools shared among our member organizations,” says NetHope CEO Bill Brindley. “We are excited for their participation as we continue to connect, collaborate and innovate new ways of helping those in greatest need.”
