Chukar Cherries Hosts Ground Breaking Ceremony
Prosser, WA, March 13, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Chukar Cherries, Washington State’s manufacturer of naturally dried and chocolate-covered cherries and berries; The Best of Nature, Best of Chocolate ® is pleased to announce the ground breaking ceremony for their new warehouse located adjacent to the company’s food processing plant on Wine Country Road in Prosser, Washington. The ceremony will be held April 4th, 2007 at 11 a.m.
Pam Montgomery, owner and founder of Chukar Cherries, credits her company’s expansion to the growing agri-tourism industry in Washington State, a dedicated team of committed employees, and national recognition from food enthusiasts such as Rachael Ray. “For the past 19 years it has been the mission at Chukar Cherries to capture the unique flavors of Washington’s bountiful fruit producing regions," said Montgomery.
Lately Chukar Cherries Production Manager, Kathleen Young, has been challenged to fit her manufacturing needs into the current 13,000 square foot warehouse. “We need basic requirements for a growing company such as a loading dock, storage space and room to move efficiently,” said Young.
Located behind Chukar’s current headquarters, the new 5,000 square foot facility will be a Distribution Center. The building will house all finished goods as well as the shipping and receiving departments. The current building will expand the company’s kitchen, where all Chukar treats are made by hand in small batches using 100% natural, premium ingredients.
