ECC Technologies Announces New Project for Cortland County Business Development Corporation
The project involves the design and overseeing construction of fiber optic cable throughout the Finger Lakes East Business Park.

Finger Lake East Business Park is located on a 127 acre, “shovel ready” site with access to interstate highways, rail services, and regional airports, with major universities nearby. The business park is ideally suited to research, information technology, life sciences and bio-related business. In an effort to make Finger Lakes East even more attractive, the Cortland County BDC/IDA and ECC are exploring alternatives for extending fiber optic cable through the park in order to provide maximum bandwidth to businesses for their voice, data and security needs.
In 2004, ECC Technologies prepared the Central New York Telecommunications Study for the Central New York Regional Planning & Development Board. That study examined telecommunications infrastructure and its impact on economic development in the five (5) county Central New York region: Cayuga, Cortland, Madison, Onondaga and Oswego. ECC specifically reviewed 60 economic development sites across the five (5) counties, eight of them located in Cortland County, including the Finger Lakes East Business Park.
