International IECEE Certification Enables Speedier Market Launch Times for Manufacturers of Solar Panels
On March 28, 2011 the SGS Solar Test House was certified by IECEE as an accredited testing laboratory in the CB program. As one of only five German CB Testing Labs (CBTL), SGS now offers solar panel manufacturers a simpler and faster route to international markets.
Hartha, Germany, May 22, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Exactly one year after receiving national accreditation according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 from Germany’s National Accreditation Body (DAkkS), on March 28, 2011 the SGS Solar Test House achieved the international accreditation of the IECEE CB program.
This program was developed by the International Electronics Committee System for Conformity Testing and Certification of Electrotechnical Equipment and Components (IECEE) (http://www.iecee.org/), to simplify the global trade with electrical products and to ensure mutual recognition of testing reports and certification between the participating countries and certification organizations.
“With accreditation of our testing laboratory we can significantly shorten market-launch times for our customers’ solar panels and thus simplify their global expansion,” explains Jörn Brembach, Manager of the SGS Solar Test House (http://www.ee.sgs.com/sgs-solar-test-house.htm).
As a national certified body (NCB) and one of the five German CB testing laboratories (CBTL), SGS can now issue internationally recognized CB testing certificates and CB testing reports for solar panel manufacturers. With a request for an additional national certification, a manufacturer that is already approved to IEC standards only needs to submit the CB testing certificate and the CB testing report together with a supplementary sheet on the national variations and is thereby given priority.
