Georgia's Peachtree Pest Control Announces Continuing Education Efforts
Norcross, GA, March 14, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Mr. Billy Sheffield, Branch Manager of the Peachtree Pest Control Co. Warner Robins Branch hosted a continuing education class for employees from various branches. He invited Jody Hubbell, Training Manager from Trutech Inc., to come and give classes on Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and Household Pest Control (HPC). Continuous education like this is done periodically throughout the year to help keep Peachtree’s crews up to date and knowledgeable, something the company takes very seriously.
The IPM class covered rodent biology and control techniques and the HPC class covered bats, snakes, and wildlife issues. Jody arrived ready to give the classes using a laptop, projector, and a friend to assist her which some of the students were not expecting, her pet snake, a non-venomous variety of course. But that didn’t matter to a few of the students who don’t take kindly to snakes apparently. However, it did help prove her point in her classroom session about the importance of snakes in the environment in regards to rodent control and that not all snakes are venomous.
Her power point presentations went into the physiology, behaviors and habits, the importance of proper inspections to guide the control methods, and the rules and laws governing these control methods. She covered the various bats, rodents, and wildlife such as snakes, raccoons, beavers, coyotes, and birds. Each presentation was then followed up with a quiz to monitor understanding.
