Teriyaki Experience Flys Into Tocumen Airport
Asian-inspired quick service chain brings healthy alternative to Panama airport travelers.
Oakville, Canada, May 22, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Teriyaki Experience, an international Asian-inspired quick serve concept recognized for being the healthy alternative to traditional fast food opened its second airport location on April 15, 2011 at the Tocumen Airport in Panama.
The new location is part of an aggressive plan to internationally expand and develop into airport terminals. The quick serve restaurant is already established in Kuwait International Airport and has contracted plans to open another location in Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in Puerto Rico. The Tocumen Airport location was opened by master franchisee QSR International of Costa Rica and its franchisee International Meal Company (IMC), a multi-brand operator in Latin America.
“There is a growing trend of international travelers being concerned with healthy eating options in airports,” said Nik Jurkovic, Teriyaki Experience’s Vice President of Development. “Establishing Teriyaki Experience in airport locations like Tocumen is a great opportunity for the brand to meet the growing demand of health conscious flyers.”
At Teriyaki Experience, sizzling meals are prepared fast and fresh in less than three minutes right before customers’ eyes on a teppanyaki griddle. The menu features a selection of rice and noodle meals, soups, wraps, salads and sushi. The restaurant offers customers the option of cooking their food with water to minimize calorie and fat content for a more healthy option or with their signature Asian cooking sauce for a more flavorful experience. Most menu items have less than 10 grams of fat and contain less than 600 calories.
“Teriyaki Experience was created as a healthy quick-service alternative to calorie-laden fast food options,” said Nick Veloce, President and COO for Teriyaki Experience. “As our concept has proven successful in various regions, the Tocumen airport opportunity will allow us to give travelers a healthy alternative and a totally different dining experience from the conventional airport restaurant.”
