Blue Skies Recycling, Helping Boeing Protect the Wild Blue Yonder, Earth Day 2011

Saint Louis, MO, May 25, 2011 --(PR.com)-- In conjunction with Boeing’s ongoing commitment to environmental responsibility, Blues Skies Recycling participated in Boeing’s Earth Day 2011 Celebration. Boeing St. Louis is the headquarters for Integrated Defense Systems and employs nearly 16,000 people. Since 1998 Boeing has cut energy use by more than a third and hazardous waste by more than half. This spring thousands of Boeing employees participated in Earth Day projects around the world, many aimed at protecting natural resources.

Action, education, and involvement were goals for the annual Earth Day Celebration. Blue Skies Recycling was proud to be part of such a worldwide event. Blue Skies joined 30 other vendors at Boeing’s St. Louis campus to educate Boeing employees on how recycling saves energy and helps to conserve the planet’s natural resources.

“We received a positive response from all the employees we spoke with. The consensus was that the Blue Skies signature Yellow organic recycling bins would be a welcomed addition to the employee cafeteria,” according to Mary Gavach from the Blue Skies Recycling Events Team.

In addition to speaking with Boeing employees about the benefits of recycling, the Blue Skies Recycling Events Team distributed brochures to continue the employees recycling education at home. In an effort to make Boeing a partner in Blues Skies effort to create a healthy planet, Blue Skies has placed six of their signature Yellow organic waste recycling bins in the employee cafeteria. Blue Skies makes the recycling process easy with valet service. Bins are picked up when full and a sanitized replacement is left. The Blues Skies Yellow bins allow companies to dispose of organic food waste, which is then composted and turned into nutrient rich soil.
