Warriors Al Harrington to "Feed the Children" on March 14th in Oakland

Al Harrington, Golden State Warriors Forward, to Provide Gifts of Free Food to Needy Families. 1,200 Children and Families Will Receive Free Food and Personal Care Items.

Oakland, CA, March 12, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Golden State Warriors forward Al Harrington is teaming up with international hunger relief organization Feed The Children to provide 1,200 needy Oakland families with boxes of food and personal care items. The recipient for the Oakland food drop will be the Allen Temple Baptist Church (8501 International Blvd) on Wednesday, March 14 at 4:00 p.m.

Feed The Children partner agency Allen Temple Baptist Church has pre-identified all 1,200 families who will each receive a 25 pound box of food and a box of personal care items.

“I feel as a professional athlete, it is my responsibility to give back to the communities that support me,” said Harrington. “Working with Feed The Children and Allen Temple to feed 1,200 families is an incredible honor and I look forward to the experience.” Al further states, “There are so many hungry families that can’t afford to feed their children and I am glad to be able to help. I am also making plans to do a similar event in New Jersey during the off season.”
