The Grand Wine & Food Affair Scholarship Endowment provides critical financial support to students pursuing careers in hospitality management, culinary arts, and spirituous beverage management and marketing.
Sugar Land, TX, May 26, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The Grand Wine & Food Affair today announced its 2011 Grand Auction and Raffle raised more than $23,000 for a scholarship endowment benefiting students at the University of Houston’s Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management, one of the leading hospitality education programs in the world. The Conrad N. Hilton Foundation will match all funds raised, doubling the value of this year’s addition to the endowment.

The endowment provides critical financial support to students pursuing careers in hospitality management, culinary arts, and spirituous beverage management and marketing.
“Our event celebrates the culinary arts,” says Keri Schmidt, President and CEO of the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce and Director of The Grand Wine & Food Affair. “What better way to grow and enhance the industry than supporting the next generation of hospitality leaders.”
Dr. John T. Bowen Dean of the Conrad Hilton College adds, “We are forever grateful for the support we have received from The Grand Wine & Food Affair. As our reputation as the nation’s leading hospitality college grows, more and more scholarship support is needed to attract highly motivated students from around the world.”
The 9th Annual Grand Wine and Food Affair is scheduled for April 18 – 22, 2012 at the Marriott Sugar Land Towne Square featuring world renowned winemakers and superstar chefs for five days of wine and food tastings, cooking demonstrations, live music, entertainment and more.
