Washington County Holds Special Election for Sheriff
Tampa, FL, May 28, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The Washington County Board of Elections Office has posted unofficial election results for the special election on May 24, 2011. Six precincts participated in one contest for sheriff. The results of the election, which are being displayed online utilizing SOE Software’s Clarity ENR, can be found at:

In the November General Election, four votes separated Democrat, James (Smiley) Ross and Republican, Gregory (Greg) Hassell. The State Board of Elections “removed all doubts of the fairness of the election,” by ordering a special election.
Unofficial election results report 4,255 ballots cast in the election for Washington County sheriff. At the time of this press release, candidate James (Smiley) Ross had received the most unofficial votes with 2,190 ballots cast in his favor.
These unofficial election results provide vote totals broken down by precinct. Washington County’s election night results are available online using Clarity ENR and list the ballots cast and turnout on a precinct-by-precinct basis. The public may review or download and print a complete copy of the election results.
