My Family CD of Delaware Partners with Local Nonprofit to Provide Safe Kids Cards
The Ronald G. Williams, Jr. Foundation is among 166 agencies chosen to receive grant money from RadioShack StreetSentz Community Grants program, resulting in a partnership with My Family CD to provide free Safe Kids Cards.
Wilmington, DE, October 01, 2005 --(PR.com)-- As part of its continuing effort to improve the quality of life for America's families, RadioShack has awarded the RGW Foundation a StreetSentz Community Grant. The RGW Foundation is one of 166 agencies to receive grant money in the latest quarterly cycle of RadioShack's program. The program funds worthy causes that help families protect children from abduction, violence and abuse.

The RGW Foundation has formed a partnership with My Family CD™, providers of Safe Kids Cards™. A Safe Kids Card is a wallet size CD's that contain three digital photos, fingerprint and emergency information. The CD can run in any Windows based computer, even police cruiser laptops. All of the information that police or medical personnel would need is contained on the CD. This saves crucial time in the event of an emergency and as the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children has stated, the first three hours are critical.
StreetSentz Community Grants are accepted year-round and are evaluated quarterly by local review councils coordinated through RadioShack district offices. Grants are awarded in February, May, August and November.
To be considered for a grant, an organization must be:
A tax exempt nonprofit designated 501(c)(3) by the IRS. (NOTE: Municipalities, including local police departments, also qualify for consideration.)
Offer solutions such as Safe Kids Cards to help prevent abduction and/or family violence/abuse
Through their programs, directly impact a RadioShack community.
Grants requests should be limited to $500 or less.
