Junior Achievement of West Virginia Introduces the JA Our Nation Program to Shepherdstown 6th Grade Students

Charleston, WV, June 01, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Junior Achievement (JA) of West Virginia will sponsor the JA Our Nation curriculum program at Shepherdstown Middle School for one hundred and ten 6th grade students on Wednesday, June 1 – Friday, June 3, 2011. Junior Achievement programs teach school to workplace skills to students in America as well as in many countries internationally. The JA Our Nation program emphasizes science, math, technology, engineering, and finance as well as other professions and successful entrepreneurs.

The plan for each daily session includes:
· Partner/volunteer introduction with a few questions from the group of students.
· Key business concept information provided by JA Volunteer Coordinator, Dr. Pamela Ellis, Harambee Conference, LLC President
· JA business group activities, which explore “hands on” use of the concepts.

Students will each receive free educational resource materials including a CD-Rom with career/business game activities featured. Area businesses participating in the program include Comcast Corporation, Young Biz, Federal Hill Farm, Inc., and Growth Media Services.
