Author D. Doyle Reynolds Destroys Coastal Town

One-time resident uses book to destroy town by supernatural means.

Johnson City, TN, June 03, 2011 --(PR.com)-- In the just released thriller, Shift, published by Smashwords, by Tri-Cities writer D. Doyle Reynolds, downtown Ventura residents are the target of a secret conspiracy. When an experimental weather-altering device is undergoing tests, unknown elements cause the device to fall off the F-18 from Point Mugu, making it plummet into the hills by Grant Park. The dangerous equipment ramps up and opens a portal into another realm where angels and demons pour through and wreak havoc.

Shift is a mixed genre novel with supernatural, paranormal and science fiction elements. The adventure continues when a Philadelphia Experiment-like bubble engulfs downtown and spirits it away, leaving the inhabitants within a sphere better than a mile wide to fend for themselves. What happens to the void? It becomes the new Ventura Bay as government officials attempt to explain the disaster away as a massive sink hole.

According to the author, "I thought it would make for great summer reading escapist fun. It is a fanciful blend of conspiracies and the spiritual realm that collide with our real world and how some might react confronted with that situation." Said Reynolds, "Many believe that the phenomenon referred to as the Spiritual Realm; angels and demons, ghosts...are inter-dimensional beings that surround us. So, how would people react if our dimensions collided?"

Reynolds is so confident people will enjoy Shift that he is offering the first 100 pages free to download. Links to the download are available from DDoyleReynolds.com and includes links to the eBook in a variety of formats as well as a print version.
