Eil.com, the World Leader in Rare Music and Music Memorabilia, Has Discovered Yet Another Piece of Musical History

Meopham, United Kingdom, March 16, 2007 --(PR.com)-- The item is Freddie Mercury’s very own Hofner acoustic guitar. Famous for his generosity, Freddie autographed and presented it as a gift to his close friend Kenny Everett, who later donated it as a competition prize.

Eil.com’s Queen expert Stephen Borkowski commented; “Queen has always been a highly collectable band and during our 20 years we have been fortunate enough to have had some of the finest pieces of Queen memorabilia but this tops everything.

“Freddie and Kenny were very close friends, a friendship that stretched all the way back to 1975 and the release of the Queen classic ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’.

“Kenny was given an advance copy of the single from Freddie, with the proviso that it was not to be played on the air. As expected, Freddie’s reverse psychology worked – Kenny loved the song and began to play it several times a night and even went as far as playing it 14 times in one day.”

Stephen continued, “To have something belonging to a member of the band is one thing but to have a fabulous story to back it up adds to both its investment value and its collectability.”

The guitar is accompanied by a hand written and signed letter on Capitol Gold (the UK based radio station Everett was working for at the time.) headed paper saying 'Hope you like the present, as Freddie was a very dear friend of mine please take care of the prize guitar.' Ole Ken.

Queen once sang “There can be only one.” Never has a sentiment been more apt than for this astonishing musical collectable.
