O'Donnell's Commitment to Chicago's Distressed Market Earns Her Top RE/MAX Northern Illinois Award
Linda O'Donnell, broker/owner of RE/MAX Signature in Chicago, recently won the Trendsetter Award, a newly created honor from the RE/MAX Northern Illinois real estate network.
Elgin, IL, June 03, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Linda O'Donnell, broker/owner of RE/MAX Signature, 2901 N. Clybourn Ave., Chicago, has been a top-producer in the Chicago real estate market for more than three decades, specializing in the sale of foreclosed properties. Those who know O'Donnell, or who are fortunate enough to work in her brokerage, refer to her as a trailblazer in the suddenly booming distressed-properties market. Her expertise in that segment of the real estate market played a major role in helping O'Donnell win the Trendsetter Award, a newly created honor from the RE/MAX Northern Illinois real estate network.
The award, presented to O’Donnell during the network's 34th annual awards ceremony, recognizes a RE/MAX affiliate who is able to anticipate and react positively to industry trends in ways that benefit their office and the entire RE/MAX network.
O’Donnell earned the award for the professional manner in which she shared her expertise in the distressed properties market with the agents in her office and the entire RE/MAX Northern Illinois network. She was quick to understand the implications for her fellow professionals when foreclosures began to multiply in 2007 and 2008 and began teaching all the agents at RE/MAX Signature, the office she owns, how to excel when handling distressed properties, whether those were short sales or foreclosures. The RE/MAX network also tapped her knowledge of that market segment.
In 2010, her efforts paid off handsomely, with RE/MAX Signature agents closing more than 1,000 transactions, a new record for the office, despite the sluggish economy and residential housing market. The agents at RE/MAX Signature last year more than doubled their production from 2009. And they achieved this ranking without factoring in the production from O'Donnell's own successful sales team. A look at the raw numbers is impressive: RE/MAX Signature agents closed 381 transactions in 2009. They upped their closings to 818 last year.
What is the reason for this success? O'Donnell cited three factors: her agents maintained a positive attitude even as the economic news surrounding them and their industry became increasingly challenging; they spent more time in the office working and learning; and they pursued short sales and other sectors of the distressed properties market in an aggressive manner.
RE/MAX has been the leader in the northern Illinois real estate market since 1989. The RE/MAX Northern Illinois network consists of 2,300 sales associates and 110 individually owned and operated RE/MAX offices that provide a full range of brokerage services throughout the northern one-third of Illinois. Its mobile search, m.illinoisproperty.com, allows users to conduct real estate searches on any mobile device with Internet access. The northern Illinois network is part of RE/MAX LLC, a global real estate organization with 90,000 sales associates in 83 nations.
