Auckland Cricket Announces the Reappointment of Aces Coach Paul Strang for Two More Years
Auckland, New Zealand, June 07, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Auckland Aces coach Paul Strang can concentrate fully on preparing his side for a Champions League campaign after confirmation that he has been reappointed to the role for a further two years.
Strang had a hugely successful season at the helm of the Aces as they took out both the HRV Cup Twenty20 and the One Day competition, after being losing finalists in each the previous season.
Those successes were undoubtedly part of the reason behind his reappointment, with Auckland Cricket CEO Andrew Eade appreciative of his coach's achievements.
"We feel that Paul has developed extensively as a coach in his two seasons with us and I think that has been borne out by the Aces success this season. We're confident that he'll continue to improve as a coach and can lead the Aces to greater heights." -Andrew Eade.
The man himself was also delighted at the appointment and looking forward to the next challenge.
"It's always great to have that affirmation that you're doing a good job and to know that you have support behind you. The first two years have provided a huge amount of learning experiences for me but we've been able to put in place some excellent processes that have been part of our success and I think will help us in the future." -Paul Strang.
Strang came into the Aces set up at the end of the 2008/9 season and helped them to the four day title before being officially appointed for a two year stint in the off-season. In 2009/10 he guided the Aces to two finals which they lost to the Central Stags (HRV Cup) and the Northern Knights (One Day) before avenging both losses this season.
His next task is preparing the Aces for a tilt at the Champions League T20 in September before focusing on the 2011/12 season commencing in November.
