New Website, “ww.AfricanScholar.Com,” Helps African Students Find Scholarships and Universities Around the World
Clinton, MD, March 16, 2007 --(PR.com)-- With an increase in the number of African Students actively yet unsuccessfully pursuing higher education, there is a need for more targeted resources to help African students make informed decisions about University education as well as find scholarships and funding opportunities to fully or partially fund a university education.
A newly created website, called African Scholar (www.africanscholar.com) provides students and parents with a means of identifying schools and scholarships that match their preferences. “African Scholar has real potential to be a valuable tool for African Students that want to find the right school and funds to match their career goals,” says Elias Mageto, Founder and Managing Director of Diaspora Interactive Media, which is responsible for Africanscholar.com. “The goal is to help parents and students navigate through the sometimes complicated admissions process and give Africans an opportunity to capitalize on Opportunities available to them around the world.”
African Scholar is still in its BETA test phase, but promises to release a more robust and effective tool by June 31, 2007. The new version following BETA will consist of updated scholarship databases from around the world; One of the largest databases of Post secondary schools; Expanded advice libraries that include admissions test preparation materials for the most popular study destinations around the world; Several blogs for administrators, students and teachers to communicate amongst each other; A career portal that focuses on entry level jobs for recent graduates; and other features to be announced upon launch.
African Scholar, being the first Pan-African Portal of its kind, is developing key relationships with key officials in applicable sectors and countries to identify student needs that can be met by the company. Key partnerships include: Secondary Schools, Ministries of Education, International Organizations, NGO’s, Universities and student groups around the world.
