Moorpark, CA, June 06, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The Moorpark College Foundation opens an invitation for local businesses to participate in its first “Christmas in July” promotion – the kick-off for its inaugural “Holiday Lights at Moorpark College” event in December.
To participate in Christmas in July, businesses simply must agree to hang one or two strings of white holiday lights along their roofline or around the frame of a window on Saturday, July 23, as an indication of support for Moorpark College.
Additionally, participating businesses will be provided with information to distribute on July 23 about the fund-raising Holiday Lights at Moorpark College event, to distribute to their customers. The Holiday Lights event on campus is scheduled for Dec. 3.
“This is an easy opportunity in the middle of summer for the business community to get involved and show support for our campus and what it provides for an educated and productive workforce in the region,” said Pam Eddinger, President of Moorpark College. “All businesses need to do is have a little fun and flip on some holiday lights for a single night, July 23. It will help introduce our new ‘Holiday Lights at Moorpark College’ event, where the community and college will celebrate the holidays together in a spectacular fashion.”
For Christmas in July, the Foundation seeks participation by at least 45 local businesses – representing the 45 years Moorpark College will have served students through the end of the 2011-12 school year. Particularly sought are high-visibility locations along freeways or major roadways, or on hilltops, in Moorpark, Simi Valley and Thousand Oaks.
To participate, contact the Foundation at (805) 404-4367 or by emailing kjajko@yahoo.com.
Holiday Lights at Moorpark College is set for Saturday, Dec. 3, co-sponsored by the Moorpark College Foundation and the college’s Associated Students. The centerpiece will be illumination of a large campus building with thousands of holiday lights; supported by a festival with vendors, children’s activities, entertainment and special surprises.
