Dubai, United Arab Emirates, June 07, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The prestigious “Oscars for the regional events industry,” the annual Middle East Event Awards awarded Managing & Creative Director Sam Katiela for his Outstanding Contribution to the Middle East Events Industry at the recently concluded Middle East Events Awards 2011 held on 1 June 2011 at the Sheikh Rashid Hall, Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre, UAE.
Sam was unable to accept the award in person but was represented by his wife, Gaby, and the rest of the mamemo productions team.
“This award makes me look back at the early years of challenges and all the great lessons I learned with it. I am grateful and humbled by this recognition,” says Sam. “Above all, I dedicate this award to my mother, who just passed away. I am what I am now because of the way she brought me up. She taught me … to think with my heart… judge with my soul… and push my body to do what I need to do. These are treasures that I hope to pass on to my own children.”
mamemo productions also took all the nominations for the Outstanding Contributions to Sustainability (Events) category, taking home the winner’s trophy for the Khalifa Fund Annual Event 2010 and runner-up place for Zayed Future Energy Prize 2011. This is the first year that mamemo productions received the top award, further strengthening mamemo’s position in sustainable events, which is a strategic component of its operations, having supported and managed such notable international events such as the Zayed Future Energy Prize (ZFEP) 2009 and 2011, World Future Energy Summit (WFES) 2009-2011, the first Masdar Exhibition at WFES 2008, and other projects for Masdar.
These recognitions bring mamemo productions’ record in the Middle East Event Awards to 19 awards and nominations over the last 4 years, one of the highest in the regional events industry.
