Summer Jobs for Palm Beach County Young Adults Take on a New Twist
The eight week summer program will provide the youth of Palm Beach County (ages 15 to 21) classroom entrepreneurship training reinforced by hands on paid practical experience in cultural environments such as museums, art galleries, theaters, cultural marketing programs and other community cultural venues.
Boynton Beach, FL, June 07, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Rainbow Marketing Inc. announces a strategic alliance partnership with the Boynton Beach Community Development Corporation and the Boynton Beach Youth Empowerment Center to provide the youth of Palm Beach County with entrepreneurship and on the job paid training. The Cultural Entrepreneurship and on the Job Training Program was developed by Rainbow Marketing Inc. and funded with the assistance of Cousins Law Firm of West Palm Beach. The eight week summer program will provide the youth of Palm Beach County (ages 15 to 21) classroom entrepreneurship training reinforced by hands on paid practical experience in cultural environments such as museums, art galleries, theaters, cultural marketing programs and other community cultural venues.
“This program is designed to fill the gap abandoned by the school system, the systematical removal of most programs that provides cultural exposure and any provision for an alternative to college,” says Annette Gray, President of Rainbow Marketing Inc.
A program kick-off and orientation was held on May 25, 2011 at the Carolyn Sims Center in Boynton Beach. Patrick Cousins, owner of Cousins Law firm, presented a check in the amount of $25,000 from the Love for One Another Foundation to CDC Board Members in attendance. Mr. Cousins also welcomed the 20 participants who applied and were accepted to the program. He urged participants to take advantage of the opportunity; “An opportunity that neither he or other entrepreneurs such as Bill Gates had prior to starting their first business.” Cousins also advised the participants to take time this summer to build a foundation for their future. Telling them, “The skills you learn today can never be taken from you."
Program Description
Student participants will have a 4 day work week, 2 days (14 hours) on the job and 2 evenings (6 hours) in classroom; total 20 hours per week. Participants were selected because of their desire to learn, gain valuable on the job training and new experiences through cultural exposure.
The program runs from June 6, 2011 to August 3, 2011. Program elements will focus on:

Resume Development
Interviewing Skills (mock interviews)
On the job business etiquette
Steps for starting a business
Business Plan development
On the job training
