Shareable Ink and Waiting Room Solutions Partner to Provide Physicians with the Easiest Path to Achieving Meaningful Use
Shareable InkĀ® and Waiting Room Solutions (WRS) today announced a partnership that combines digital pen and paper with the ONC-ATCB-certified WRS system. Customers have already begun receiving incentive funding without sacrificing productivity.
Goshen, NY, June 08, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Shareable Ink®, the leading provider of enterprise-grade digital pen and paper applications for healthcare, and Waiting Room Solutions (WRS), a leading web-based ambulatory EHR vendor, today announced a partnership that combines digital pen and paper with the ONC-ATCB-certified WRS system. The partnership helps eliminate the lost productivity associated with implementing an ambulatory EHR, which historically has been a major barrier to widespread adoption. The combined solution has already enabled three customers to be among the first in the country to demonstrate Meaningful Use and receive Medicare EHR incentive payments.
Shareable Ink enables clinicians to document on familiar paper forms with no change in workflow. Using the clinician’s own handwritten notes, Shareable Ink’s software records the pen strokes, translates them into discrete digital data and images, and provides real-time alerts on missing or erroneous items. The electronic data is immediately available through a secure web connection and sent from the forms into corresponding fields within the EHR as if it had been typed in.
“According to the CMS definition of Meaningful Use, providers need to show they are using certified EHR technology in ways that can be measured significantly in quality and in quantity,” said Dr. Lawrence Gordon, an Ear, Nose, and Throat surgeon with ENT Specialty Care (http://www.entspecialtycare.com) in Goshen, NY. “Waiting Room Solutions with Shareable Ink was instrumental in helping us reach Meaningful Use attestation and will help our practice improve overall patient health.”
Dr. Gordon and two other physicians from ENT Specialty Care successfully attested on April 20, 2011. CMS has approved and released $18,000 in incentive payments to each. They plan to use the money for continued investment in patient safety for the communities they serve, using certified EHR technology provided by Waiting Room Solutions.
“We are thrilled to partner with an innovative company like Waiting Room Solutions, which serves one of the hardest-to-automate segments of healthcare: small physician practices,” said Stephen S. Hau, President and CEO of Shareable Ink. “The integration of Shareable Ink’s digital pen and paper platform into the Waiting Room Solutions application allows their customers to meet regulatory requirements in a way that does not disrupt the daily business of seeing patients.”
