Lac du Flambeau, WI, March 17, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Lake of the Torches Resort Casino proudly celebrated Lydia Zastrow's 103rd birthday with her many friends she has met at the resort casino.
Lydia, who has been visiting the casino weekly since 2001, said that she was very happy to share her remarkable birthday with the friends she has met at Lake of the Torches, located about 15 miles from her home in Woodruff. "I never thought I'd see this day," she said.
As part of the celebration, Lydia and her friends from Northern Tours enjoyed dinner in the Eagle's Nest Restaurant along with a cake that was compliments of the casino staff.
Lydia said she enjoys playing Blackjack during her visits to Lake of the Torches. She's been playing Blackjack for over 20 years. The aspect of the game she enjoys the most is winning, she said.
"Lydia always sits in the front seat and everybody on the bus always knows her," said Sherry Sherman, owner of Northern Tours and the driver for the bus that Lydia rides to Lake of the Torches. In fact, Lydia was the first guest to ride the Northern Tours bus. "There's been times when everybody else would cancel, but we still drove her up for a day of fun," Sherry said.
"We're very happy and honored to share this extra special day with Lydia and her friends," said Leana Schlecht, Marketing Manager at Lake of the Torches. "We wish her all the best and are always glad to see her enjoying herself at our property."
Situated on the shores of Pokegama Lake and nestled in Wisconsin's Northwoods, the Lake of the Torches Resort Casino has a feel of a classic Northern retreat and reflects its Ojibwe culture and heritage. The casino has over 850 slot machines (including a non-smoking area), 12 blackjack tables and three Poker tables, a high-stakes Bingo Hall seating up to 500 persons, a 24-hour food court and the Eagle's Nest Restaurant.
