TekTone Helps MBA Students as Part of Class Project

As part of Western Carolina University’s MBA 605 class, “Marketing Management,” 5 teams of students are not only learning business theory, they are having the opportunity to put their new skills to use by partnering with local businesses.

Franklin, NC, June 09, 2011 --(PR.com)-- TekTone Sound & Signal Manufacturing Inc., a partner of WCU’s Small Business Technology and Development Center is offering one MBA team a chance to study in a real world business setting. The team is working with TekTone conducting marketing research and developing marketing plans to promote long-term business strategies while helping to increase profits in the healthcare market.

The MBA team has made multiple visits to TekTone’s world headquarters in Franklin working closely with WCU graduate and marketing specialist Brad Hyder and Vice President Johnny Mira-Knippel. “The team has been a tremendous asset to TekTone, assisting us with competitive research, marketing strategy, customer surveying, and even opened lines of communication with a major medical device manufacturer as a potential partner. The partnership has been a valuable win-win,” stated Hyder.

The team included MBA students Bobby Fotopoulos, Miriya Sinitsyna, and Lilia Yakina along with Ryan Taylor, working as the SBTDC business counselor to TekTone. The final step includes all 5 teams presenting their findings to their client companies on WCU’s campus.
