NBC News Chief Foreign Affairs Correspondent Andrea Mitchell Named Honorary Chair of the National Walk Now for Autism Speaks on the National Mall on October 22nd

Washington, DC, June 10, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The Autism Speaks National Capital Area Chapter is pleased to announce that Andrea Mitchell, NBC News Chief Foreign Affairs Correspondent, will serve as the Honorary Chair of the 2011 National Walk Now for Autism Speaks to be held Saturday, October 22, 2011 on the National Mall.

“I’m delighted to team with Autism Speaks and the National Walk to raise autism awareness here in the Washington, DC community,” said Andrea Mitchell. “Over the years, I’ve witnessed the devastating effect autism has on families, and am proud to join their many supporters at this special event dedicated to raising critical funds for autism research.”

Andrea Mitchell is also the host of MSNBC'S “Andrea Mitchell Reports,” an hour of political news and interviews on MSNBC. During the 2008 Presidential campaign, Mitchell travelled to every major primary and caucus state and all the candidate debates for NBC News and MSNBC. Mitchell currently covers politics and foreign policy, intelligence and national security issues, including the diplomacy of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, for all NBC News properties.
