Long® Fence Receives Multiple Awards for Safety Performance and Incident Prevention
Fairfax, VA, June 11, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Two local chapters of Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. have awarded Long® Fence the nationally recognized Gold STEP Award for safety performance and commitment to training and incident prevention. The Metro Washington chapter presented their award on May 19, 2011. The Virginia chapter presented their award on June 7, 2011 at the Fair Oaks Marriott in Fairfax, Virginia. Leo Titus, President of ECS Mid-Atlantic LLC was the guest speaker.
The Safety Training Evaluation Process (STEP) Gold designation sets companies apart from their competition by showing commitment to improving jobsite safety through training and prevention. STEP Gold recipients understand what it means to commit to building the strongest safety program possible.
Long® Fence will also receive a 2011 Paragon Certificate of Commendation from the Virginia chapter of Associated Builders & Contractors for achieving a safety incident rate below the national average compiled by the Bureau of Labor and Statistics.
“Long® Fence is very proud to have received these awards,” said Martin Wetzler, Long® Fence corporate safety director. “We strive to provide safe environments for our employees whether in the office or on the job site. Fewer claims due to accidents and injuries means reduced costs and lost time, allowing us to pass on the savings to our customers.”
Long® Fence Donates Fencing to Support Safety at Local High School Graduations
In addition to promoting safety in the work place, Long® Fence supports the importance of safety in our communities. During the next few weeks, many area high schools will have their graduation ceremonies. This exciting time of year is often overshadowed by tragedy as celebrating students engage in behaviors that put them and others at risk. Fortunately, most schools provide alternative activities for graduating students to help keep them safe and sane. For over fifteen years, Long® Fence has supported selected area high schools’ Grad Night celebrations by donating temporary fence to secure the venues and help provide a safe zone for students participating in Grad Night festivities.
