North Shore Concepts Joins Local Companies in Bowl-a-Thon to Raise Money for Charity

Park Ridge, IL, January 11, 2011 --(PR.com)-- On December 19th North Shore Concepts teamed up with a group of Chicago based corporations to host a bowl-a-thon and raise money for Operation Smile. Members of the North Shore Concepts joined 7 local companies in Oak Park to lead the pack in raising over $1400 for the charity.

North Shore Concepts is a sales and marketing firm founded in July 2010. The company, based out of Park Ridge, IL, is contracted with national corporations to acquire, retain and negotiate accounts with both businesses and consumers.

North Shore first became involved with Operation Smile a few months after opening. The company plans to help raise enough money to fund an operation within the next few years.

Operation Smile was founded in 1982 by two doctors volunteering to conduct surgeries on cleft palates and cleft lips. They established the foundation after one trip to the Philippines where lack of supplies and volunteers forced them to turn away several deformed children. Currently, Operation Smile is present in over 50 countries and continues to expand their resources.

“I wanted to make sure our company was giving back to the community. We have an amazing team of people and it is exciting to see how much they care about having a positive impact both in and out of work. I am proud of what we have been able to do and it’s exciting to know this is just the beginning and that we have a lot left to accomplish,” explains Ryan Williams, President of North Shore Concepts.

The bowl-a-thon brought together members of companies from all over the Chicago area as well as family and friends. They met at Oak Park Bowling Alley from 10:30a.m.-1:00p.m. Each member was charged a $30 entry fee which included game and shoes. To help raise money and add competition, the group added a donation system where players could buy points for an additional $10.

Each company also donated to the charity and funded door prizes which included dinner and a $200 American Express Gift Card to the top bowler of the day. All profits went directly to Operation Smile.

North Shore Concepts has recently expanded and taken on a second client. The company plans to double in size again within the next 12 months. With this growth, they plan to continue to expand their philanthropic work as well.
