Wright Scoop Challenges Honor Thy Father
In celebration of "Father's Day," the Wright Scoop challenges all to "honor thy father."
Richmond, VA, June 14, 2011 --(PR.com)-- In her story, Taking Care of Dad, the Wright Scoop - Sylvia Hoehns Wright says, "Have no regrets, 'honor thy father'. While accepting the role of caretaker for an elderly parent can be stressful, be your parent’s advocate and best friend. Use his/her elder-years as the opportunity to become acquainted, not simply as a parent but mentor and friend." For details of Wright's elder-caretaker experience, link to blog the Wright Scoop - http://blog.thewrightscoop.com/2010/06/01/taking-care-of-dad.aspx.
One of many life-stories published in her book A Path Worn Smooth, Wright invites readers to walk on a path worn smooth by generational expectation. Savor nostalgia for places that are near and dear to heart, recall family traditions and more importantly, establish generational connections, heritage. Challenging all to celebrate heritage: the birthright of their children.

Honor Thy Father
His callous hands worked to provide,
for a family as required.
Built a home, worked the soil,
walked a path of generation toil.
Taught by action, not by word,
acts of love are what were heard.
Sharing through bed-time stories,
tales of words convey life's glories.
Thankful for what came his way,
folded hands he daily pray.
While elder years he did confuse,
memories of Dad, we do not lose.
