SWACHA Awards More Than $10,000 in Scholarships for the Nacha Payments Institute
SWACHA today awarded more than $10,000 in scholarships for the 2011 NACHA Payments Institute. This marks the 10th year SWACHA has provided the NACHA Payments Institute Scholarship and the 5th year for the Keith Daniels Memorial Scholarship. Dallas-based SWACHA awards scholarships to banking professionals for their dedication and involvement both in their financial institution and within the SWACHA membership.
Dallas, TX, June 15, 2011 --(PR.com)-- SWACHA today awarded more than $10,000 in scholarships for the 2011 NACHA Payments Institute. This marks the 10th year SWACHA has provided the NACHA Payments Institute Scholarship and the 5th year for its most prestigious scholarship, the Keith Daniels Memorial Scholarship. Dallas-based SWACHA, one of the largest not-for-profit regional electronic payments associations in the country, awards scholarships to banking professionals for their dedication and involvement both in their financial institution and within the SWACHA membership.
These scholarships will allow the recipients to attend the NACHA Payments Institute in Washington, D.C., July 10-13, 2011, which is a weeklong education opportunity for financial professionals to broaden their knowledge of all payments systems, while networking with the best and brightest in the industry.
2011 Keith Daniels Memorial Scholarship winner:
· Kelly Jones, AAP, First Financial Bank, N.A. of Abilene, Texas.
The Keith Daniels Memorial Scholarship is SWACHA’s most prestigious scholarship named after the former SWACHA Board Director. Along with $2,441 for tuition, room and board, Jones will receive $500 in travel allowance.
2011 NACHA Payments Institute Scholarship winners:
· Yolanda Davis, AAP, Generations Federal Credit Union of San Antonio, Texas.
· Sandy Youngblood, AAP, Pegasus Community Credit Union of Dallas, Texas.
· Tamara Trahan, AAP, Commercial Bank of Texas, N.A. of Nacogdoches, Texas.
Each general scholarship recipient will receive $2,441 for tuition, room and board.

A Blue Ribbon selection panel made up of distinguished SWACHA members chose this year’s scholarship winners, based on several criteria including their level of experience in payment systems and their involvement in the industry.
