Rigstar Communications Announces “Remote Communications CIO Council” Board of Directors
Robert Hart, Chief Revenue Officer of Rigstar Communications announced today the board of directors for the Remote Communications CIO Council.
Calgary, Canada, June 16, 2011 --(PR.com)-- In 2010, Rigstar’s “Remote Communications CIO Council” was established to provide a forum for industry leaders to discuss the challenges involved with executing business and IT deliverables in a remote network environment, and to work together to develop innovative solutions for such challenges.
Brent Grisdale, founder and President of Rigstar Communications Inc., will serve as Chairman of the Board, while Robert Hart will serve as President and Co-Chairman. The remaining board members announced today are David Booth, Tom Collins, Mark Fossen, Rick Johannesson, Ron Johannesson, Robert Lam, Doug Philp, Clay Radu and Robert Tasker, who collectively bring a wealth of industry knowledge and practical experience to the table.
One of the initiatives taken by the Council was to establish a semi-annual conference aimed at discussing how to leverage remote IT infrastructure within organizations, as well as educating CIO’s on relevant strategies and technologies that will impact and influence their companies in the current market. In May 2011, Rigstar Communications held its "First Annual Remote Communications CIO Conference" at the Hotel Arts in Calgary to an overwhelming positive response from attendees.
Board members David Booth, Tom Collins, Ron Johannesson and Rick Johannesson were among the keynote speakers at the inaugural conference. Topics of presentation included “The Evolution of Technology and the Managing of Transformational Technologies: What Might Happen in the Next 25 years,” “Building High Performance Remote Telecom Infrastructure in the Middle of Nowhere,” “Advanced Data Protection Techniques and Scalability for the Highly Virtualized Public/Private Cloud Environment,” and “The Digital Oilfield.”
The "Second Annual Remote Communications CIO Conference" will be held in Calgary, Alberta on October 18, 2011. Discussion will be centered on "Health, Safety and Environmental Sustainability - and how Information Technology is Leading the Charge."
