Cloud Awards Launch First International Awards
New awards to celebrate success in the arena of cloud computing across the US and EMEA regions
New York, NY, June 17, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The first international Cloud Awards launches today, celebrating excellence in the cloud computing industry across both the United States and EMEA regions.
The awards launch follows continued growth in the cloud computing industry across both the US and Europe.
Categories include:
• Developer of the Year
• Most Promising Start-Up
• Social Media Innovator
• Best Cloud Infrastructure
• Best Software as a Service
• Best Platform as a Service
• Web Services Excellence
• B2B Customer Strategy
• B2C Customer Strategy
• Data Innovation of the Year
• Security Innovation of the Year
• Best Mobile Service
Entrants will be split into US and EMEA regions, giving 24 awards, as well as one overall “Cloud Computing Company of the Year” award covering both regions, giving 25 awards in total.
Cloud Awards organiser Larry Johnson said: “We’ve got a great team behind us this year to make these awards a runaway success. The cloud computing industry is still in its infancy, yet we still all get tired of hearing data-as-a-service this and X-as-a-service that.
“Vendors like Salesforce are always hitting the headlines, and well done to them. But for the average Joe a lot of the tech-talk and biz-blab we see every day can be extremely off-putting. We’re trying to fix that by helping to promote the good work that everyone in the IT services industry achieves. Ultimately, cloud computing delivers huge commercial benefits across the world. It’s about time we got real and started talking about the business case.
“We’re also encouraged by some promising developments in Europe too, which is why the awards will be split into US and EMEA regions. We’re hoping to finally throw the spotlight on all those innovators worldwide.”
The awards cost $295 for a single entry, or candidates may enter multiple awards for a single fee of $495. The closing date for the awards is 3 November 2011. To find out more about the Cloud Awards, visit the website at www.cloud-awards.com.
