Architectural Firm Provides Pro-Bono Services for Non-Profits
Access Design Group LLC announces their “Philanthropy through Service” program to assist local non-profits with various free professional architectural services.
Savannah, GA, June 18, 2011 --(PR.com)-- For many non-profits, funding is off, donations are down and private companies are closely watching the bottom line. As many non-profits struggle to maintain viability in our current economy, Access Design Group LLC is helping ease the burden by donating their professional services.
Marjorie Weibe-Reed, owner of Access Design Group LLC states, “Non-profits are a vital and important fiber in the fabric of our communities. They fill the voids, close the gaps and sometimes hold it all together by providing necessary services where the government and municipalities fall short. Since my early 20’s, I have been involved in my community volunteering in one capacity or another, on boards, committees and professional organizations. As a professional, I can offer services that might otherwise be unattainable for some organizations.
“Many people do not realize all the capabilities that an architect has when dealing with the built environment. The field of architecture is a multi-disciplined profession, unlike that of engineering. Architects are trained to weave all of the disciplines into one comprehensive solution, manage all of the participants and reinforce design intent through various forms of communication. Architects are articulate, creative people who have complex problem solving skills,” states Ms. Weibe-Reed. She goes on to say that architects don’t just design fancy buildings. “Currently, we are working with Maggie’s Morning School under this program. We are analyzing the exterior envelope of their building to include the environmental systems and making recommendations on how to increase occupant comfort. They experience a lot of heat gain/loss due to the lack of insulation in the building,” states Marjorie.
Ms. Weibe-Reed is a licensed architect and interior designer and is a graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design. She has over 15 years of commercial, governmental, military and historic design experience and has served a wide variety of clients across the states of Georgia and Florida that range from $40K to $8.9M in construction costs.
If you are involved with a non-profit who may benefit from this program, please contact Access Design Group LLC at 912.308.9410 or via email at accessdesigngroup@att.net.
