GreaterGood Network Adds The Autism Site to Suite of "Click Here to Give" Websites

The GreaterGood Network launched The Autism Site in June to raise awareness of this growing health problem that impacts thousands of children and their families in the United States and around the world.

Seattle, WA, June 20, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The GreaterGood Network launched The Autism Site in June to raise awareness of this growing health problem that impacts thousands of children and their families in the United States and around the world. In the U.S., one in 70 boys are diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder, according to the CDC.

"We have been involved for many years with charities focused on children’s health and education," said Tim Kunin, CEO of the GreaterGood Network. "Creating The Autism Site allowed us to target a specific problem and bring greater awareness to the issue through our websites and growing social networks. Already we have received terrific positive feedback from our regular website users."

Approximately 5 million unique visitors visit the GreaterGood Network each month. The Network’s growing Facebook fan base has topped 9 million fans across numerous pages.

Like visitors to the GreaterGood Network’s other popular "Click Here to Give" websites, visitors can make a free contribution to charity by simply clicking on the homepage button. When visitors click the blue "Click Here to Give – It’s Free" button on TheAutismSite.com, it generates a donation from sponsoring advertisers to provide therapy to children living with autism.

In the first two weeks of operation, the clicks at The Autism Site funded more than 165 hours of therapy to be provided by National Lekotek Center (www.lekotek.org) and National Autism Association (www.nationalautismassociation.org.) One hundred percent of sponsor advertising is donated to TheAutismSite.com’s charitable partners.

"In the 31 years since Lekotek began its mission to serve children with disabilities, autism has taken on a national focus. We are grateful and excited to join The Autism Site in helping these children depart from a world of struggles and therapies into the joyful experience of play and through that accomplish more than anyone every dreamed possible," said Macy Welsh, director of National Lekotek Center.

Shopping at The Autism Site store also makes a charitable contribution. Each item purchased at www.theautismsite.com/store supports autism research and therapy for children with autism -- at no extra cost to the shopper. For each item purchased, up to 50% of the item’s retail price will be granted to the site’s charity partners through GreaterGood.org. Store contributions help Lekotek provide interactive therapy, support the Helping Hand Program through the National Autism Association, and fund research projects approved by Autism Speaks.

In addition, visitors can make a direct, tax-deductible donation to help children with autism by contributing to the Gifts That Give More [tm] program. One hundred percent of donations received through this program go to charity; the GreaterGood Network pays all administrative costs, including credit card processing fees.
