Oceanside, NY, June 19, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The Louis Feil Charitable Lead Annuity Trust has made a $3 million gift to South Nassau Communities Hospital, which will be used to support the continued growth and expansion of the hospital’s Cancer Center.
“On behalf of the charitable lead annuity trust under the will of Louis Feil, the trustees, the entire Feil Family, and I are pleased to make this commitment to South Nassau Communities Hospital,” said Mr. Jeffrey J. Feil. “We understand and have deep appreciation for the role of a community-based healthcare provider. By fulfilling its mission to provide high-quality, standard-setting healthcare services that match the needs of the communities and the medically under served, South Nassau makes an indelible contribution to the exceptional quality of life enjoyed by residents of the South Shore of Nassau County.”
Mr. Feil, his sisters, and their families, including his parents, the late Gertrude and Louis, have been lifelong residents of Rockville Centre, NY.
In appreciation of the generosity of the Trust and in memory of Gertrude and Louis Feil, South Nassau is renaming its cancer center the Gertrude & Louis Feil Cancer Center at South Nassau Communities Hospital.
"We are deeply thankful for the generosity and support of the Feil family," said Joseph A. Quagliata, president and CEO at South Nassau. “This gift will help South Nassau build on its tradition of excellence in the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered cancer care services and ensure that the communities and residents served by the hospital continue to have convenient access to the most advanced healthcare available anywhere."
