Las Vegas to Host 3rd Annual “Stop Child Trafficking Now Walk” in 2011
Las Vegas, NV, June 19, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Today, non-profit organization Stop Child Trafficking Now announced plans for its 3rd annual fundraising Walk in Las Vegas, Nevada, on September 24th, 2011 at 9AM PST at the Stupak Community Center (251 W. Boston Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89102). The Walk is part of a national campaign taking place in over 35 communities throughout the United States and Canada.
Stop Child Trafficking Now (SCTNow) stems from the 501(c)3 Strategic Global Initiatives formed as “A Voice for the Vulnerable” dedicated to targeting the source of child trafficking - predators who supply the domestic and international sex industry.
SCTNow has partnered with specially trained operatives to build cases and gather intelligence against predators who are driving the sex trade industry around the world.
The SCTNow mission involves a multi-phase plan to deploy and underwrite operative teams around the world in an effort to take predators off the street. “Without the buyer—there would be no sex industry. We tackle demand because it deals with the root of the issue,” states Ron Lewis, President of SCTNow.
Though a majority of funding will go to the demand side of the issue, SCTNow also partners with and funds non-profit organizations that are focused on the various facets of ending human slavery.
With the help of walkers, sponsors and volunteers, the Stop Child Trafficking Now Walks are able to raise awareness and money in local communities all over the United States. Last year’s Stop Child Trafficking Now Walks, held in October, gave rise to over 10,000 walkers in over 30 communities including Canada and Australia, helped raise over $500,000 dollars for the cause. To date the Walk Campaign has raised over $1m to stop child slavery.
On September 24th the mothers, fathers, sons, daughters and friends of the Community of Las Vegas will walk to Stop Child Trafficking Now. The Walk event is open to the public.
