Dazzlme designer hats has joined the movement against violence and abuse at the Rock to Stop Violence Music, Art, Fashion Event on June 23rd at the House of Blues in San Diego. The event benefits the Chadwick Center for Children & Families at Rady Children’s Hospital.
San Diego, CA, June 22, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Rock to Stop Violence (RTSV) brings communities together to stand united against violence and abuse through high impact Rock 'n Roll music, art, and fashion events. The 3rd Annual San Diego event will feature 5 bands plus a rockin’ anti-violence fashion show, art & photo exhibit and silent auction. The event opens at 6pm and the show starts at 7pm.
According to the US Census Bureau, there are more than 1,400,000 violent crimes being committed in the United States annually. That number does not include domestic violence and child abuse. There were 40,000 new cases of violence and abuse reported at Rady Children's Hospital San Diego last year alone. Many children are being treated for physical and emotional damage but there are still more suffering in silence and pain that can carry over into adulthood and lead to generational violence and abuse, drug addiction, self-sabotage, and/or suicide.
"After we survived the devastating violent crime, I had a choice to make,” says founder Michelle Renee. “Allow it to paralyze me into inaction or show my daughter and the world that you can choose to become empowered by the events in our life." Through her “Break the Silence & Shame" empowerment message, RTSV reaches out to survivors of violence and abuse via fundraising events, benefit events, awareness events, PTSD education, and school "impact" events.
“I feel privileged to be a part of the Rock to Stop Violence event,” says Camille Wood of Dazzlme Hats, and is excited about showcasing, 'Just Me', a new line of one-of-a-kind hats created from antique or unused jewelry. Wood will be donating one of her 'Just Me' hats to the charity.
