Decorating Den Interiors Franchise Wins International Design Award
Patrice Hawkins’ bedroom makeover honored at Decorating Den Interiors Conference.
Charlotte, NC, June 29, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Editors from America’s top home furnishing publications recently awarded local decorator Patrice Hawkins the distinguished honor of Third Place Bedroom at Decorating Den’s 42nd Annual Design and Market Conference in Phoenix, Ariz. The award for bedroom makeover was presented by Decorating Den Interiors Chairman James S. Bugg Sr.
Hawkins, who owns a Decorating Den Interiors franchise in Charlotte, beat out more than 250 entries in two design contests held in New York and at the spring High Point Furniture Market. Editors from Better Homes & Gardens, Traditional Home, House Beautiful, House & Garden and Good Housekeeping were among the judges.
Hawkins tells her clients “I listen, beautiful happens.” For her winning entry, she turned a local couple’s dated and drab space into a stylish and inspirational retreat.
“A South Charlotte couple, who recently became empty-nesters, wanted an updated look,” Hawkins said of the winning design. “The room with gold faux walls and red and gold bedding was tired-looking. We created a relaxed environment with tailored custom bedding and a fresh palette of colors resulting in a beautiful transformation.”
Hawkins started her design business in 2004. The Hawkins Team of Interior Designers, Decorators and Specialists are proud to serve the Charlotte area, including Dilworth, Southpark, Myers Park, Cotswold, Eastover, South End, Pineville, Huntersville, Concord, Harrisburg, Lake Wylie and the surrounding communities.
