VLabSource and Wireshark University Team up to Provide Web-Based Certification Testing
With VLabSource’s online virtual labs, Wireshark University can effectively validate a candidate’s ability to troubleshoot network communications and perform network forensics.
Salt Lake City, UT, March 21, 2007 --(PR.com)-- VLabSource, Inc. and Wireshark University announced today that VLabSource will provide interactive, web-based virtual labs for Wireshark Certification programs including the Wireshark Certified Instructor Program (WSCI) and the Wireshark Certified Network Analyst (WSCNA) Program. Using PC virtualization technology, VLabSource will allow Wireshark University to evaluate a candidate’s ability to efficiently and effectively troubleshoot network communications and perform network forensics with Wireshark. Recognizing the benefits of performance-based certification testing over paper-based testing, VLabSource and Wireshark University are pioneering the use of web-based virtual labs as a method of evaluating a certification candidate’s skill by asking them to demonstrate tasks on real networks.

The candidate will then demonstrate their ability to analyze a network by capturing network traffic and working on trace files captured in real-time. Using VLabSource’s proprietary progress monitoring technology, Wireshark University will score a candidate’s test based on the completion of numerous tasks that evaluate the candidate’s ability to troubleshoot and analyze network performance and security.
