"Blast Monkeys" Game for iPhone, Android and NOOKColor Gets 2 Millionth Download
San Francisco, CA, June 25, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Blast Monkeys was downloaded over a million times in the last four weeks, reaching a total of over two million cross platform downloads. It took the physics-based puzzle game from Yobonja exactly four months to reach over one million downloads, and in less than four weeks it’s now doubled that.
To celebrate this achievement, Yobonja has just finished the “Water World,” a new set of 30 levels for the game. This will be the fourth world in the game, and adds two new elements for players to deal with. This content addition will bring the total number of levels in the game to 120, not counting the new levels each week that are available in the news feed.
In Blast Monkeys, players shoot a monkey named Moki out a cannon and through a series of rotating platforms, moving pegs, and other fun obstacles in order to get to the end goal – a bushel of bananas. Collecting the bananas is a matter of perfect timing and marksman-like aim. The game is designed to be easy to play, but can get quite hard to get a perfect score in each level.
On the Android Marketplace, the game is ranked #2 in “Action and Arcade” and has been within the Top 5 Games for almost two months. The game also was released for NOOKColor a little over two weeks ago, and quickly reached the Top 5 Overall Apps chart, peaking at #2. This last weekend alone, the game was downloaded approximately once every two seconds.
The game has over 61 thousand rating on Google’s Android Marketplace, and over 3 thousand times on the Apple App Store, and holds an average rating of >4.5 stars. Users have a wide variety of positive comments and reviews, from parents telling us “My children and I love it!” (Janet, Android Markplace) to gamers saying “Easily one of the best game in the AppStore. Each level brings a new element to the game. Great job!”
The new update with the “Water World” will be available as a free update to Android users starting today, with iOS and NOOKColor versions of the game will be getting the update very shortly after.
